Registered Nurse - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Please apply via https://www.hhscareers.ca/ and search for Requisition # 124133   Job Number: 124133 Location : Hamilton General Hospital Status : Regular Part-time Salary : $41.15 - $58.98 Hourly Unit Summary The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, General Site provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care to complex patients with unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, high risk arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy or valve dysfunction. Critically ill patients with multiple organ involvement, post-cardiac arrest, post-angiogram or PTCA complications, hemodynamic instability requiring invasive monitoring, ventilation, and intra-aortic balloon pump support. The C-ICU provides cardiac arrest team services for the General Site. Position Summary As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered Nurse assesses, implements, coordinates and evaluates patient care and provides nursing care according to the job description and standards of practice for Registered Nurses in Ontario as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Schedule Work Hours days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays Qualifications Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse Current BCLS certification, ACLS certification preferred Recent (within the last 2 years) experience in acute cardiac care nursing and critical care Recent (within the last 2 years) experience in ECG interpretation/treatment, hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines and pulmonary artery catheters), ventilation, IV access, venipuncture, defibrillation, pacemakers and ICDs Current knowledge of the assessment and management of an acute cardiac population and critically ill adults Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing care planning process and evidence of the ability to utilize problem-solving and critical thinking techniques effectively in a critical care setting Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills Ability to perform well in critical high stress situations Proficiency in both Official Languages would be an asset.
