About the Opportunity

The Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively within an inter-professional team, providing a holistic approach (addressing bio, psycho, social, cultural, and spiritual needs), and comprehensive care for individuals, families, groups, populations and communities across the continuum of care. The RN independently provides safe, competent, compassionate, ethical nursing care to all patients with predictable and unpredictable outcomes and all levels of complexity, and ensures goals and needs are prioritized and individualized. Using nursing knowledge, critical thinking and clinical judgement, the RN engages in independent, interdependent and dependent functions to provide healthcare focusing on comprehensive assessment, patient/family education, and coordination of care. These functions may be self-determined, or assigned by physician or nurse practitioner, other RN or as part of team consultation and planning.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • BScN or BN degree
  • Minimum of one year acute care experience
  • Experience providing patient education to individuals and groups
  • The ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • Current Heart & Stroke BCLS certification
  • Current WHMIS certification
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to complete current competencies in nursing specialty
  • Previous work attendance may be considered
  • Certification in ACLS
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention/willingness to enroll
  • Two years recent demonstrated continuing nursing education
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent, Full-Time / 75 Hours Bi-Weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$40.55 - $49.99 Hourly

$51.74 with 25 years of RN experience
