About the Role

As a Registered Nurse – Emergency/High Acuity, you will provide direct patient care to individuals experiencing a wide range of health concerns, from non-urgent conditions to life-threatening emergencies. Working within a dynamic team environment, you will:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with complex health needs.
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based care in both Emergency and High Acuity settings.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills in a high-acuity environment.
  • Advocate for patients and families while providing compassionate, person-centered care.

Shift Rotation

Rotating Days and Nights

  • 07:00 to 19:00/19:00 to 07:00

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN.
  • Completion of a recognized combined Emergency & High Acuity specialty program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current certifications in:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
